THE FASTEST ROUTE (ZERO → AIRLINE PILOT)
Phase 1: Foundation (0 → Commercial Pilot)
Step-by-step:
- PPL (Private Pilot Licence)→ Learn fundamentals (40–60 hours typical)
- Night Rating + Instrument Rating (IR)→ Fly in all conditions (critical for airlines)
- CPL (Commercial Pilot Licence)→ You can now get paid to fly→ Requires ~200–250 hours
- Multi-Engine Rating→ Required for airline aircraft
Timeline (fast-track):
~10–14 months if training is efficient and consistent
Phase 2: Hour Building (The REAL bottleneck)
This is where most people lose time.
You need:
- 1,500 flight hours for airline eligibility
Fastest way:
- Become a flight instructor (CFI)

Phase 3: Airline Entry
Once you hit:
- CPL + IR + Multi
- ~1,500 hours
