As a student at LFC, you quickly realize this place isn’t just about building hours. It’s about actually becoming ready for the real world of flying.
A lot of the guys I started with have already moved on into airline and commercial jobs around the world, and you can see why. The training here is structured in a way that actually prepares you for what comes next, not just the licence itself.
From day one if you are coming from abroad, you’re working through everything step by step. Namely, PPL, ATPL theory, Multi-Engine, Instrument Rating, instructor ratings, hour building, even simulator sessions and license conversions. It all feels like one continuous path rather than separate courses.
What stood out to me most is how much flying you actually get done. You’re operating in controlled airspace, flying a solid, best-maintained fleet, and you’re not sitting around waiting for opportunities. The instructors are experienced and very direct — they expect discipline, proper decision-making, and standard procedures from the start, just like in an airline environment.
There are students here from all over — South Africa, India, the UK, Europe, UAE, Nepal and more — all working towards the same goal. Whether you start from zero or you’re already building towards your CPL, everyone follows the same clear progression.
What I’ve learned is that LFC isn’t about shortcuts. It’s about consistency, structure, and actually becoming employable at the end of it. You’re pushed to think and operate like a professional pilot from early on, and that makes a big difference later.
