UK JAA Licence
Lanseria Flight Centre now exclusively offers
JAA professional pilot training. Students have
the option of obtaining a full UK JAA PPL licence
after obtaining their SA PPL. Once the student
has their SA PPL Licence issued, they may enroll
on the UK JAA Licence course offered at Lanseria
Flight Centre. This is not just a UK PPL validation
but a full JAA licence conversion. The JAA conversion
course comprises the following:
UK JAA PPL Course
- Once student has their SA PPL licence issued
they can enrol on JAA training course
- The student need to complete an additional
minimum of 3 hours flight training, in a
C172, the hourly rate for JAA training includes
the additional JAA ground school training
and briefings with each flight
- In the case of a student only requiring
the minimum 3 hours JAA flight training the
student may complete the additional 2 hours
on simulator or C172 at standard rate to
make up a 45-hour PPL
- LFC also offers hourly exam prep tuition
for students to ensure that they are ready
for the UK JAA exams - this will be charged
at an hourly rate
- The student is required to sit seven exams
at LFC invigilated by the UK JAA DE
- Once the student is deemed ready for testing,
a flight test is carried out by the UK JAA
DE.
- On successful completion of flight test,
the student will return to UK with a completed
application form to submit to UK CAA for
a full JAA PPL conversion.

Medical Requirements
Medical requirements, our in-house JAA approved
medical examiner, offers class 2 JAA medicals.
Any student leaving the UK with a full JAA CPL
in mind will need to obtain a class 1 medical from
the CAA medical examiners at Gatwick. Our local
JAA approved medical examiner is able to renew
class 1 and class 2 medicals in SA.
